ABOUT
INDUSTRIES
Anodizing is known for giving parts more longevity while increasing corrosion and wear resistance. The electrochemical process adds durability with a protective oxide layer on the surface. precise bending services
Available in 5 colors
Type II, class II anodizing in clear, black, blue, gold, and red
Works with 7 other post-processing services
Anodizing pairs well with a variety of our other sheet metal services
Available on three aluminum alloys
Protect your 5052, 6061 and 7075 laser cut aluminum parts
Some imperfections may be visible through the anodizing
Color finishes may vary from batch to batch
Different alloys will have significantly different color finishes
Anodizing is non-conductive
Parts requiring welding should not be anodized. The anodizing
can scratch and raw material will be visible below
Bend lines will be visible through the anodizing (die protection is not available)
Plating is the process of depositing a metal coating onto a substrate. This can increase rust prevention, wear resistance and increase strength. Plating is known for corrosion resistance increasing the lifetime of your part. We currently offer Zinc and Nickel plating. precise bending services
We offer both Zinc and Nickel plating
Choose from clear, black, and yellow zinc finish, or bright nickel.
Protect and beautify your parts
Plating can add corrosion resistance and strength to your sheet metal parts
Available on 3 metals
Plate your copper, chromoly and mild steel parts
Color finishes may vary from batch
to batch Different alloys will have different color finishes
Plating can scratch and raw material will be visible below
Parts requiring welding should not be plated. If parts require welding
after plating, you will need to remove the plating in the area you will be welding Nickel plating will typically add 0.0002" per side to the surface of your parts, while zinc plating will typically add 0.0003"
Tumbling removes burr from the cutting edge of your part and provides a smooth, soft feel. Our tumbling services provide a reduction in surface blemishes and handling scratches that can be found in raw materials.
Remove burrs and sharp edges from your parts
Tumbling ensures uniform removal and smoothing of machined components.
Removes major imperfections from processing
Tumbling provides a more consistent finish than raw sheet metals
+1-2 days production time
In-house tumling means we can provide faster turn-arounds
Thin and fragile parts are not ideal for tumbling; consider deburring for fragile parts.
Available on parts 0.500” x 1.50” minimum
and 4" x 7” maximum. Minimum material thickness is 0.119".
Tumbling will not remove all burrs from previous operations, such as countersinking or tapping. Tumbling will change the final look of the part compared to linear deburring, especially in combination with finishing services like anodizing, plating, and powder coating.
Tapping is the process of forming threads in the holes of a part to later allow for the addition of hardware. HLH’s tapping services save you time, hassle, and money. precise bending services
We offer a wide variety of thread sizes for tapping
We’ll also help you determine the correct hole sizes for your parts
Tapping is available on 12 materials
Choose from 4 plastics and 8 sheet metals from .059″ – .500″ thick
Available on a wide variety of sizes
Tap parts as small as 1″ x 1.5″ and as large as 36″ x 46″
Parts may have some light oil residue
Parts may require some deburring
Tapped holes near bends could distort and may need chasing All tapped holes will be right hand threaded
Tapping services may add 1-2 days to our production times
Powder coating gives your parts a bold, long-lasting finish and protective layer which provides corrosion, oxidation, and damage resistance. precise bending services
5 colors, 3 finishes
Gloss finish in white, black, red, yellow, and green. Wrinkle & matte finish in black
Available on 8 metals
Most aluminums and steel > .040″ in thickness
Increase the life of your parts
Powder coated sheet metal can last an average of 20 years in direct UV exposure before needing to be redone
Aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel are the best materials for powder coating
We do not offer custom colors in powder coating 3” minimum part size; 23” maximum
Parts will be sandblasted prior to powder coating to ensure a successful finish Powder coating adds between .002"-.005” per side to your final part
Except for the wrinkle black finish, all powder coat colors will show fingerprints.
Our laser cut deburring process removes small imperfections, scratches, and burr left over on your sheet metal parts from the cutting process. precise bending services
Our deburring services are available on eligible materials
Removes major imperfections from processing
Most aluminums and steel >
Produces a more consistent finish than raw materials
Deburring adds a nice brushed look to your parts
There will be some minor imperfections
Bottom face will have minor scratches
There will be small tabs on the edges of your parts leftover from the machining process.
These cannot be removed by our deburring process Some edges will be sharp, and some edges may be slightly rounded
To receive parts "as-cut" be sure to select the Unfinished option when ordering
